INFORMATION FOR GROUP MEMBERS

 

The settlement of these proceedings Hassan & Anor v State of Victoria [2023] VSC 478 was approved by the Supreme Court of Victoria on 17 August 2023.

 

The dates for lodging claims, opting out and making objections have now closed.

  

Distribution of individual payments from the $5,000,000 settlement monies will be made according to the agreed Settlement Distribution Scheme (‘Scheme’).

 

The Administrator of the Scheme is the Secretary of the Department of Health, Professor Euan Wallace AM.

 

The Administrator must register and verify the eligibility of claimants, before providing an initial notice to all claimants indicating his determination as to eligibility. After any requests for review are resolved, the Administrator will distribute payments.

 

Under the Scheme, the Administrator must endeavour to distribute payments by 17 February 2024.
